🚌 Electric Ski Buses
Emission-Free Travel to the valley station
Since 2024, all ski buses in the region have been operating fully electrically. Our guests can travel comfortably, quietly, and with zero local emissions from their accommodation directly to the Almenwelt Lofer valley station.
Your Benefits
- 🌱 Reduced local emissions
- ⚡ 100% electric ski buses
- 🏔️ Less private vehicle traffic throughout the region
❄️ Sustainable Snowmaking
Natural. Resource-Efficient. Reliable.
For snowmaking, we use water from natural mountain streams – exclusively during the snowmelt season, when sufficient water is available. The water is stored in two naturally designed reservoirs. No drinking water is used for snowmaking.
Our Reservoirs Offer Multiple Benefits
- 💧 Water storage for snowmaking
- 🏞️ Popular destinations for hikers and families during summer
- 🌧️ Water retention during heavy rainfall, helping to regulate runoff
- 🚒 Water reserve for firefighting if required
- 🐄 Water supply for grazing livestock during dry periods
100% Natural
Our technical snow consists exclusively of:
- 💧 Water
- 🌬️ Air
No additives or chemicals are used.
Renewable Energy
⚡ All electricity required for our lift facilities and snowmaking operations comes from renewable energy sources.

☀️ Photovoltaic Systems
Harnessing the Power of the Sun
Our photovoltaic systems generate part of our electricity directly on site.
- ☀️ Schwarzeck Station – 32 kWp
- ☀️ Almbahn I Mountain Station – 7 kWp
This allows us to harness the power of the sun while reducing our reliance on external electricity supplies.
🤝 Regional Energy Community
Local Energy for a Sustainable Future
As a member of a regional energy community, we use electricity generated by local photovoltaic systems.
This means:
- ⚡ Using locally generated renewable electricity
- 🔌 Shorter transmission distances
- 🌍 Reduced pressure on the electricity grid
- 🤝 Supporting the regional economy and local value creation
🚜 Intelligent Snow Management
Precision Saves Resources
All of our snow groomers are equipped with state-of-the-art snow depth measurement technology.
This enables us to:
- 📡 Measure snow depth with high precision
- ❄️ Produce only the amount of snow that is actually needed
- 💧 Save water and energy
- 🌱 Protect alpine meadows by preventing unnecessary ground damage
- 🏔️ Maintain consistently high-quality ski slopes
🌍 Our Commitment to the Future
For us, sustainability means combining environmental responsibility with modern mountain tourism. Many individual measures together make an important contribution to protecting our unique alpine environment.
